Dendritic Calcite is a variety of chalcedony from the agate family. Though often characterized by a milky body tone, it can also range from translucent to opaque. The milky base provides a striking contrast to the dark brown or black inclusions within.
These inclusions, known as "dendrites," are formed from trapped manganese or iron oxide minerals during the agate’s formation.
