Mexican Agate Flame

Mexican agate aka Crazy Lace Agate, often called the ‘laughter stone,’ is a variety of banded chalcedony prized for its intricate swirling patterns. It forms when silica-rich solutions slowly deposit in cavities of volcanic rock, creating winding bands of reds, creams, greys, and golds. The striking lace-like designs come from trace minerals such as iron and aluminum, which infuse the agate with its vivid palette. Each piece is a miniature canvas of twisting lines and layers, making Crazy Lace Agate one of the most visually dynamic and unique varieties of agate found in nature.
